Terms
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between your business and us for using TenthPocket. By creating a shop you agree to them for your business. They are written to be read, so if anything is unclear, ask us at hello@tenthpocket.com.
Who we are
TenthPocket is run by Holdr Ltd, a New Zealand company based in Auckland. In these terms, we and us means Holdr Ltd, and you means the business that owns the shop in TenthPocket and the people it lets use it.
Your account and your team
- TenthPocket is for running a business that buys, sells or trades cards. You must be at least 18, or be added by someone who is, and able to agree to these terms for your business.
- Each person has their own login. Do not share logins.
- The owner of a shop decides who is on the team and what they can do. You are responsible for what your team does in your shop, and for removing people who should no longer have access.
- Keep your email address current. It is how we reach you about your account, your bill and changes to these terms.
Founding vendors and plans
While we test, founding vendors use TenthPocket free. We will email you at least 30 days before any billing starts, with the plan and price that would apply, and you choose whether to stay. Nothing is charged without that notice.
Once billing starts, plans and prices are as shown on our pricing page when you choose a plan. Plans are billed monthly in advance. You can change plan or close your shop at any time; a change takes effect from your next month, and we do not refund part months.
We may change our prices. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can change plan or leave before then.
Card scans and fair use
Each plan includes a number of card scans a month. A scan is one card read from a photo; rechecks and failed reads are not counted. On a paid plan you keep scanning past your allowance: each extra 100 scans is added to your next bill at the price on our pricing page, up to a monthly limit you set, and never more than the price of the next plan. Unlimited means fair use, up to 10,000 scans a month. Card scanning for a new shop is switched on by us, once we have said hello.
Do not use TenthPocket to scan cards for anyone else's business, to build a price list or card database for use outside TenthPocket, or in any automated way we have not set up for you.
Your data is yours
- Your stock, deals, prices, cash ups, customers and reports belong to your business. We use them only to run TenthPocket for you, as our privacy page explains.
- An owner can download the shop's records at any time, including after billing stops, and while a shop is suspended.
- If you close your shop, it is locked straight away and deleted 30 days later, unless you reopen it before then.
- We may use figures that cannot identify you, your customers or any card you hold, combined across many shops, to improve TenthPocket and to show market trends. We will never show another vendor your prices, stock or customers.
Your customers
When you record your customers in TenthPocket, you are responsible for having their agreement to keep their details and for how you contact them. Emails you send to your customers through TenthPocket are sent in your shop's name. Marketing emails must only go to people who have said yes, and must let them unsubscribe, as the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 requires. TenthPocket records who said yes and adds the unsubscribe link for you. We never contact your customers for our own purposes.
Prices and card readings are a guide
Market prices come from outside sources and are converted to your currency. Card readings are made by AI and show how sure they are. Both can be wrong or out of date. You set every price, offer and deal, and you are responsible for checking a card and its price before you buy or sell it. We are not responsible for the outcome of a deal.
Money and tax
TenthPocket records the cash, card payments, trades and store credit in your deals. It does not take or hold payments. Your records, your tax, your GST returns and your cash are your responsibility. We work hard to make every total add up, and the records in TenthPocket are a tool for your own books, not a replacement for them.
Using TenthPocket fairly
Do not use TenthPocket to deal in counterfeit, stolen or illegal goods; to break the law or anyone's rights; to send spam; to get into another shop's records; or to copy, resell, overload or take apart the service. We may stop any use that puts TenthPocket, other vendors or their customers at risk.
Keeping it running
We aim to keep TenthPocket available and to tell you early about planned work. Buying, selling and cash ups keep working without signal and send when it returns, but deals still waiting on a device are only on that device, so let your device send them before you clear it or sign out. We change and improve TenthPocket often. If we remove a feature that matters to your plan, we will tell you first.
Help and support access
We answer help requests by email. Support can see inside your shop only when an owner or manager switches it on, for a time they choose, and can never change anything. See our privacy page for the detail.
Suspending and ending
- You can close your shop at any time from Settings.
- If a bill is more than 30 days overdue, we may suspend your shop after warning you by email. Suspension starts at midnight in your time zone, never in the middle of a show day. Your records are kept and you can still download them.
- We may suspend or close a shop at once for serious misuse, such as dealing in counterfeit or stolen cards or attacking the service. Otherwise we give at least 30 days notice before closing a shop.
Our responsibility
TenthPocket is supplied for business use. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply, and sections 9, 12A and 13 of the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for lost profits, lost deals or indirect loss. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months, or $100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email account owners at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using TenthPocket after then, the new terms apply.
The law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the courts of New Zealand decide any dispute. Before going to court, we will both try to sort it out by talking first.
